Herschel resident wins $1 million on LOTTO 6/49!

Jeffrey Wiens was sure his partner was playing a trick on him when she called to tell him he had won a million dollars. Wiens won on the December 22 LOTTO 6/49 draw.

“She called and told me that we won $1 million,” he said. “All I could think to say was, ‘Are you messing with me?’”

“I definitely didn’t think she was serious,” he continued. “I didn’t think that sort of news could be real!”

Luckily for Wiens, it was real, so the Herschel resident started thinking of ideas for his winnings.

“It was hard to come up with things to do,” said Wiens. “You always kind of think about what it would be like to win, but it’s different when it actually happens.”

“We’ll probably start by paying some bills,” he continued. “I’d like to pay some bills for my dad, too. We’re both farmers, so there are always bills to pay.”

The happy winner said he is also thinking about a couple of fun purchases to help celebrate his win.

“It would be nice to do something special,” he said. “I’ve always had a pipe-dream of buying a Corvette. We’ll see; you never know!”

Wiens purchased his winning ticket at Kindersley Shell and Car Wash, located at 400 12th Avenue East in Kindersley. He won his million-dollar prize on the Guaranteed Prize Draw by matching the selection 38325929-01.
