LOTTO 6/49 win in Preeceville
Player-selected numbers lead to a cool $234,653 win
When Kathleen Pidgurski heard her LOTTO 6/49 numbers on the radio, she was shocked and needed to know how much she had won. The Preeceville resident called her son and soon discovered she had won $234,653.00 on the March 20 draw.
“Every once in a while, I ask my son to pick up a lottery ticket for me,” she said while claiming her prize at the Regina prize office. “I give him a set of numbers and hope for the best.”
“When I heard those same numbers on the radio, I couldn’t believe it,” she continued. “I called him and said, ‘I think we got the right numbers! We won!’”
The winner said she hasn’t made any decisions for her recent windfall yet and plans to take her time deciding.
“I want to pace myself thinking about it and be smart,” she said. “I’ll probably think up different things as time goes on.”
Pidgurski won LOTTO 6/49’s second-highest prize by selecting random numbers that matched five of the six main draw numbers and the bonus number – 9, 16, 25, 36, 39, 43 and the bonus 49. Her son purchased the winning ticket at the Shoppers Drug Mart located at 3709 Chuka Blvd. in Regina.
