Prince Albert winner "in disbelief" over $100,000 EXTRA windfall
SASKATOON (Sept. 4, 2020) — What started out as a normal day for Prince Albert’s Darren Solomon quickly turned extraordinary when he discovered he was $100,000 richer after taking home the second-top prize on the EXTRA on his LOTTO MAX ticket for the June 9 draw.
Solomon only checks his tickets when he has quite a few of them, so he had a stack of tickets with him on the morning of Aug. 21. While stopping to get gas, he used an in-store ticket checker and was shocked to discover one of those tickets was a big winner.
“I was in disbelief,” laughed Solomon. He checked the ticket half a dozen more times to confirm what he was seeing before taking it to the counter where his win was confirmed.
Solomon picked up his ticket a few days before the draw at the Lake Country Co-op Gas Bar at 228 16th Street West in Prince Albert – the same location where he found out about his win. He said he’s not sure what he’ll do with his windfall.
