REGINA RESIDENT CLAIMS $1 MILLION LOTTO MAX PRIZE!
When Travis Brady stopped to fuel his truck, he ended up topping up his bank account as well. The Regina resident discovered he had won a $1 million MAXMILLIONS prize on the December 7, 2018 LOTTO MAX draw.
Brady bought his ticket from the Sherwood Co-op Prince of Wales C-Store, located at 2020 Prince of Wales Drive in Regina. He discovered his win almost a month later, when he was back at the same store.
“I was out running errands with my wife and son, and I noticed the truck needed gas,” he remembered. “I had six tickets in the truck, so I went inside to check them. I scanned them on the ticket checker and saw I won $2, and a free play. Then I scanned this one.”
“I saw all the zeroes, and I didn’t know what to do,” he continued. “I went out to the truck and told my wife I needed her to come in and help me check it.”
Brady’s wife thought he was pulling her leg when the clerk said he’d won a free play.
“She gave me a look like, ‘You called me in here for this?’” he said. “My stomach sank, but then I realized I’d given him the wrong ticket. We were both shocked when he checked the right ticket, and it really was $1 million!”
“It didn’t feel real. It still hasn’t really sunk in,” he added.
Brady said his priority for his windfall will be paying off his home.
“The nicest thing about this win will be paying down the mortgage,” he said.
Brady’s winning MAXMILLIONS numbers were 9, 21, 23, 26, 39, 42, and 49.
