A. Saskatchewan Lotteries is operated by Sask Sport Inc. on behalf of the sport, culture and recreation communities in the province. Q: Is signing the back of my ticket important?
A: Yes. WCLC recommends players print their name on the front of their ticket as soon as it is purchased and also sign their name, and print their address and daytime telephone number on the back of a ticket after it is purchased. Prizes are payable to the holder(s) whose name(s) appears on the back of a ticket. Identification may be requested when the ticket is presented for prize claim.
Q: Should I check my tickets after the draw, or should I check them through the ticket terminal?
A: Players should always take responsibility for their tickets and check the tickets themselves to see if they have won a prize.
The easiest way to check a ticket is to use the Self Serve Ticket Checker available at all lottery retail locations. The official winning numbers and prize amounts are also available in 'flipper' display units at retail and winning numbers are also published on sasklotteries.ca, in Luck Magazine and by assorted media outlets. It does not take long to check your Selection(s), and this ensures that you will know if you are entitled to a prize and how much that prize is. Prizes up to $1,000 can be claimed, funds permitting, at retail. Prizes over $1,000 must be claimed through a Prize Office and additional information on such prize claims can be obtained by calling 1-800-665-3313 during regular business hours.
Q: Can a Retailer check my tickets?
A: We don't recommend you transfer responsibility for checking your ticket to the Retailer. Checking every player's tickets would create long line-ups, and if the prize exceeds what the Retailer has on hand, your prize claim may be delayed. So it's best to check your ticket yourself to see what prize, if any, you are entitled to.
Automated Ticket Checkers are available at all Retail locations. They allow you to check all tickets. Ticket Checkers display the amount of all prizes under $10,000, and they indicate if Free Plays have been won. For prizes of $10,000 or more, the message “Appears to be a major winner” is displayed.
However, if you choose to have a Retailer scan your tickets for you, be sure you receive the Validation Slip that prints from the Ticket Terminal. This slip is directed to you, the player, and will display any prize you have won. If you have any concerns about the awarding of a prize, you have the right to refuse payment and take your ticket back. You can then call 1-800-665-3313 for further instructions.
Q: Can I play WCLC's games if I live outside the jurisdiction?
A: No. Canadian lottery jurisdictions do not sell lottery tickets outside their respective borders. Visitors can, of course, purchase tickets when visiting another lottery region, but they must claim all prizes through that region. Most lottery tickets include the name and address of the selling jurisdiction on the back of the ticket.
Q: I purchased a ticket while visiting your jurisdiction. How do I claim a prize?

Q: I bought a LOTTO 6/49 and LOTTO MAX ticket from another jurisdiction. When I try to cash them here, the terminals won't validate them.
A: LOTTO 6/49 and LOTTO MAX are national lottery games and are played in five different jurisdictions across the country. However, Ticket Terminals can only verify tickets purchased in their jurisdiction. In order to claim a prize on a ticket purchased from another jurisdiction, you must mail your ticket to the address shown on the back of the ticket. Make sure your name and return address are written in the Claim Form on the back. The selling jurisdiction will check your ticket for you and mail out any winnings in the form of a cheque.
Q: If I win a major prize, do I need to have my picture taken?
A: Yes. According to WCLC Rules and Regulations, the Corporation has no obligation to pay or deliver a prize unless the winner gives WCLC the right to publish the winner's name, city or town of residence and/or recent photograph.
Names and photographs of major winners are publicized to protect the integrity of the games - verifying the prizes have been won, and showing that winners come from every walk of life.
Q: I found a LOTTO 6/49 ticket in my junk drawer that is over a year old. Can I still claim a prize?
A: Tickets for draw games such as LOTTO 6/49, LOTTO MAX, WESTERN 649, WESTERN MAX, EXTRA, and PICK 3 expire one year from the draw date. Prizes cannot be paid after this time.
KENO prizes must be claimed within 180 days from the purchase date.
SPORT SELECT ticket holders have 90 days from the date of when the last selected game was played to claim their prizes.
All SCRATCH 'N WIN tickets have an expiry date printed on the back of the ticket, and the game names and expiry dates are listed in our regional Luck publications. Tickets with no expiry date listed on the back have expired.
Q: How is the Lottery dollar spent in Saskatchewan?
Q: What is the purpose of the Bonus number?
A: On LOTTO 6/49, LOTTO MAX, WESTERN MAX and WESTERN 649, a Bonus Number is drawn in addition to the regular Lottery numbers. You need to match all six regular numbers to win the Top Prize on LOTTO 6/49 or WESTERN 649, and all seven regular numbers to win the Top Prize on LOTTO MAX or WESTERN MAX.
But if you are one number short of winning the Jackpot, make sure you check the Bonus Number on your ticket. Several number combinations use the Bonus number and pay terrific prizes if matched!
Q: What is a Group Buying Agreement?
A: A Group Buying Agreement (GBA) may be required when a group claims a prize.
The GBA should include: the groups trustee, the type of game, the draw date and ticket numbers, as well as each member's name, address, telephone number, share and signature. It does not have to be completed before a notary of the public or any other legal representative.
Should your group win, the appointed trustee can claim the prize for the group by presenting the winning ticket, two pieces of identification and the completed Group Buying Agreement. The ticket must bear the signature, full name, address and telephone number(s) of the trustee.
Q: What is a Quick Pick?
A: A Quick Pick is a Selection generated by the Ticket Terminal.

Letter appearing to be from WCLC, notifying U.S. resident of alleged lottery win
Q: I received a letter with WCLC's logo saying that I had won a lottery prize. The letter asked me to return funds to cover tax and charges, and it included a cheque from another company to assist with these charges. Is this legitimate?
A: No, what you received is a scam and an attempt to take advantage of you. The letter is not from WCLC, and you have not won a lottery prize of any kind.
Someone has scanned WCLC's logo onto a letter to make it appear the letter was sent by our Corporation. Disregard this solicitation completely and do not, under any circumstances, make any payments or provide any personal or financial information to the individuals who have sent you this letter. The cheque that accompanied your letter (to "assist" you with tax and service charges) has also been falsified and will bounce.
For your information, WCLC does not sell its products or solicit sales outside of our jurisdiction of the Canadian Prairie Provinces and Territories, nor do we authorize anyone to do so on our behalf. To win a prize on our games, players must purchase a ticket while in our jurisdiction.

A: Draws for WCLC’s regional games – WESTERN 649, EXTRA, PICK 3 and WESTERN MAX - are done on stand-alone computerized draw machines, and stringent controls and security measures are in place for each regional game draw.
Two computerized draw machines are available for each draw, and they are located in a secure location that is monitored by video surveillance 24 hours a day. An external auditor, who oversees the draw, selects which draw machine is to be used for any given draw. Security personnel attend each draw, and all draws are videotaped using an automated time-date stamp.
The computerized draw machines' Random Number Generators were initially tested by two independent laboratories to ensure the randomness of their number selection. Draw software was also tested independently and certified as accurate. Independent testing of randomness and software continues from time to time, and it is mandatory when regional games are added or removed, or significant changes are made to existing games.

Bigger Jackpots also generate excitement and lead to group play and more tickets sold. Because of this, large Jackpots often go to multiple winners, who each receive a more moderate prize. The largest lottery Jackpot ever offered in Canada – $54.3 Million on the October 26, 2005 LOTTO 6/49 draw – was won by a group of 17 co-workers in Alberta.
Q: Why is the term "guaranteed" used to describe some lottery Jackpots, while "estimated" is used to describe others?
A: The five Canadian lottery regions "guarantee" some Jackpot amounts on LOTTO 6/49 and LOTTO MAX to provide larger top prizes to players. "Guaranteed" Jackpot amounts are not normally funded by player sales alone, so promotional funding is added by the regions to ensure the guaranteed amount is met.

Q: How do I win on WESTERN MAX?
A: To win or share the $2 Million Top Prize for the main draw, one of your selections must exactly match all seven main winning numbers drawn for the eligible draw date. There are also subsidiary prizes to be won for matching as few as three of the winning main draw numbers on one line of your ticket. To win or share one of the additional $1 Million prizes, you must exactly match all seven numbers from one of the seven additional sets of winning numbers. There are no subsidiary prizes.
Q: Why don't WESTERN MAX Jackpots increase when the Top Prize or some of the additional $1 Million prizes aren't won?
A: Because it's only available within the Prairie Provinces and Territories, WESTERN MAX has about 15% of the player base of the national lottery games like LOTTO MAX and LOTTO 6/49. The game was therefore designed to offer the same Top Prizes to players on every draw. If WESTERN MAX had been designed with rolling jackpots, those jackpots would have started at a much lower level. With WESTERN MAX's current structure, a $2 Million Top Prize and seven $1 Million prizes will always be available, whether or not some or all of them were won the week before. The weeks when the top prizes are not won essentially pay for subsequent prizes when there is a winner.

A: WCLC expects that MAXMILLIONS draws will be offered about four or five times a year. Of course, this depends on how often smaller Jackpots are actually won, and can vary.
Q: My number matched four numbers on one line of the MAXMILLIONS numbers. Why didn’t I win?
A: On MAXMILLIONS numbers, players can only win by exactly matching an entire number drawn. There are no subsidiary prizes for matching less than all seven numbers.
Q: Can I check my LOTTO MAX ticket on the Ticket Checker?
A: Yes! When the screen reads: “Check your tickets here,” simply scan the barcode and wait for the message to appear on the screen.

Q: Do I win anything if I match the first digit of EXTRA?
A: No. The EXTRA only pays for matching all 7 digits, or the last 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 or 1 digits, in the correct order.
Q: What does More EXTRA mean?
A: It's a game feature which allows you to play up to six different EXTRA numbers on LOTTO 6/49 and WESTERN 649, five different EXTRA numbers on LOTTO MAX and WESTERN MAX, and four different EXTRA numbers on PICK 3.

Q: Why can't I pick three of the same numbers while choosing Box Play?
A: If all three numbers chosen are the same, there is only one possible outcome and therefore the Selection can only be played using Straight Play. Box Play allows the player to play one 3-digit number in various combinations to win prizes.
Q: What is the most I can win on a SCRATCH 'N WIN ticket?
A: The Top Prizes vary, but generally SCRATCH 'N WIN Top Prizes range from $10,000 to $1 Million.
Q: While playing PRO•LINE, all my teams won by league rules, but the ticket doesn't seem to be a winner. Why?
A: PRO•LINE offers players three outcomes: Home Win, Visitor Win and Tie. A "Tie" in PRO•LINE varies by sport. For all sports except Golf, Hockey and Soccer, PRO•LINE results include all extra play. For Hockey and Soccer, PRO•LINE results include overtime but do not include shootouts.
Hockey and Soccer: a "Tie" is a tie. For Hockey and Soccer, final PRO•LINE results include overtime but do not include shootouts.
Football: a game decided by 3 points or less is considered a "Tie." For a "Visitor Win" or "Home Win," the team must win by 4 points or more.
Basketball: a game decided by 5 points or less is considered a "Tie." For a "Visitor Win" or "Home Win," the team must win by 6 points or more.
Golf: a golf game decided by two strokes or less is considered a 'Tie'; for a 'Home Win', the home player must win by three or more strokes; for a 'Visitor Win', the visiting player must win by three or more strokes.
Baseball: there are no ties.
Tennis: there are no ties.
Q: What if all regularly scheduled holes within a golf tournament cannot be completed?
A: It is not uncommon to have one, or more, rounds of a golf tournament postponed and played later in the tournament. A golf tournament is considered complete, for the purposes of PROPS, if all golfers not previously eliminated, disqualified or withdrawn, complete all regularly scheduled holes within seven (7) days of the scheduled first day of the tournament; or, with respect to a seventy-two (72) hole tournament, in the event that all regularly scheduled holes cannot be completed, the said golfers complete a minimum of fifty-four (54) holes within seven (7) days of the scheduled first day of the tournament; or, with respect to a fifty-four (54) hole tournament, in the event that all regularly scheduled holes cannot be completed, the said golfers complete a minimum of thirty-six (36) holes within seven (7) days of the scheduled first day of the tournament.
Q: When I play Combo Play PRO•LINE, sometimes I can pick more than four ties and sometimes I can't. Why?
A: Players may choose a maximum of four ties per ticket in PRO•LINE. When you play a 4-Game Combo, because the five or six games you choose are played in combinations of four, you may pick ties for all the games.
However, if you add Standard Play to your 4-Game Combo ticket, you may only choose 4 ties as in a standard PRO•LINE ticket.
Q: You shut down SPORT SELECT games that already appear on your active Game List. Why aren't they available for wagering?
A: A late injury, player trade, or even bad weather can affect the likely outcome of a sporting event. Original assumptions used to set the odds may no longer be valid. When this occurs, sales for the game may be closed.
Q: What happens when a game is postponed or rained out before it is finished?
A: When games are delayed, suspended, cancelled, or called incomplete by the league governing the sport, WCLC assigns an odds value of 1.00 to the outcome for that game. In POINT SPREAD, the potential payout will be reduced to the next lowest category.
In baseball, the league considers a delayed game that cannot be resumed "official" any time after four and a half innings if the home team is leading, or five innings if the home team is losing. Once the score of the delayed game has been declared official, WCLC considers the game completed and the score at the time the game was called is the official result of the game.
Q: What is DOUBLE PLAY?
A: DOUBLE PLAY is a wagering feature that allows you to play PRO•LINE and OVER/UNDER on the same ticket, and even on the same game!
Using a DOUBLE PLAY Selection Slip, available at lottery Retailers, you choose between three and six "Picks". (A "Pick" is the prediction of one PRO•LINE or OVER/UNDER outcome. Predicting both PRO•LINE and OVER/UNDER for the same game represents two picks.)
Q: What sports are offered on SPORT SELECT?
A: WCLC offers SPORT SELECT wagering on professional and college football, professional and college basketball, professional and international hockey, professional and international baseball, international soccer, professional golf and professional tennis.
Q. What are the benefits of MVP Service?
A. When you sign up for MVP Service, you can choose to receive e-mails letting you know the winning LOTTO 6/49 and LOTTO MAX numbers on the night of the draw, as well as alerts about the upcoming Jackpot amounts.

Q. When I try to sign up for MVP Service, why do I see a message that says “e-mail address is already in use"?
A. This message means that you or someone else in your household has already registered using that e-mail address. Any e-mail address can only be used to create one player profile. If two people usually share the same e-mail address, and both wish to create a player profile, one will have to use a different e-mail address.
Q. Is the personal information I enter to register for MVP Service protected?
A. Yes. The MVP Service portion of our website is SSL Secured using 128-bit encryption. All information collected on the site is used for the purposes agreed to by the user, and the information collected will not be used for any other purposes. Q. I’m trying to register, but it tells me my postal code isn’t a valid entry. What’s wrong?
A. Postal codes should contain six characters with no spaces. The first, third and fifth characters must be letters (A-Z), and the second, fourth and sixth characters must be digits (0-9).
When entering your postal code, please ensure you do not include any spaces between characters. In addition, please double-check that you substitute letters for numbers (i.e. the letter "O" in place of the digit "0") or vice versa.
Q. Can I remove myself from MVP Service?
A. Yes. If you no longer want to be registered for MVP Service, send us an e-mail explaining your request, and we can remove your account.

Q. What's the difference between an HTML e-mail and a plaintext e-mail?
A. E-mails sent in HTML format can contain images, graphics and links within the e-mail, while plaintext e-mails only contain unformatted text, with no images, graphics or links.
Although many e-mail clients used on home or laptop computers can display either type of e-mail, plaintext e-mails are best suited for cell phones and other mobile devices. However, if you're not sure about your e-mail program - whether on your computer or mobile device - select plaintext as your e-mail format
Q. What can I do if I no longer want to receive e-mails from MVP Service?
A. If you wish to make changes to your account and stop receiving winning numbers, Jackpot Alerts and other notifications by e-mail, you can simply login to your account and choose to edit your profile. In Step 3 of the “Edit Profile” process, you’ll see a green checkmark in a box beside each e-mail alert you’re currently receiving. Click the box again, and the green checkmark will disappear, and you’ll no longer receive that alert. When all the e-mail alert boxes are blank, you must agree to the MVP Service terms and conditions and privacy policy; then click “Save” for your changes to take effect.
Q. Can I delete my MVP Service account?
A. Although it’s not possible to remove your own account from MVP Service, if you no longer want to be registered, send us an e-mail explaining your request, and we can remove your account.
Q: How do I use the "Print Here" link to print pages?
A: The "Print Here" icon appears on the Winning Numbers pages for LOTTO 6/49, WESTERN 649, SUPER 7 and PICK 3; all KENO "Winning Numbers by Day" pages; and the current SPORT SELECT results.

A: In order to print complete SPORT SELECT Game Lists from the interactive PRO•LINE and OVER/UNDER or POINT SPREAD Game Lists, select the games and outcomes you may wish to wager on, and, if of interest, you can also select the amount you’d like to wager in order to see your potential payout (if you don’t select an amount, the form defaults to a $2 wager). Once you’ve done this, click on “Print Preview”, and a new window – containing the entire Game List for the day with your selections underlined – will appear. You can then click on “Print” at the top of the page to print the list.
