Saskatoon couple wins $100,000 on EXTRA!
Darlene Milward had to get a second set of eyes to double-check her LOTTO MAX ticket before she could believe she’d won the lottery. The Saskatoon woman and her husband, Richard, won $100,000 on the January 11 EXTRA draw.
“I woke up the day after the draw and checked my numbers online,” she said. “I always check my EXTRA numbers first.”
“I saw that the first number didn’t match, but the rest of them did,” she continued. “So, I waited for Rick to wake up and I asked him to double-check the numbers.”
The Milwards purchased their winning ticket at the Save-on-Foods located at 126 Kensington Boulevard in Saskatoon. They returned to the store to scan their ticket after checking the numbers online.
“We wanted to make sure we were reading the ticket properly,” said Richard. “It was exciting to watch the cashier scanning the ticket at the terminal.”
The Milwards said they celebrated their win by going out for breakfast. They plan to take their time deciding what to do with their windfall, but are starting to think about a warm holiday.
“We’d really like to go on a vacation,” said Darlene. “Definitely somewhere warm!”
The winning EXTRA number on January 11 was 6843212.
