Regina Co-workers Win $331,043 on LOTTO MAX!
Not many people can say that they made more money on their coffee break than during their whole workday. But that’s what happened to Leonardo Javier and eight of his co-workers when they checked their LOTTO MAX ticket. The group won $331,043.30 on the January 11 draw.
Along with Javier, the winning group includes Julius Labaya, Peter Siapno, Ramil Anonas, Marlon Rodriguez, Julius Domingo, Jess Mangundayao, Glicerio Regonas and Nathaniel Flores.
Javier said he was shocked when he learned the group had won.
“Julius checked the ticket on his coffee break,” he said. “He had a hard time believing what he was seeing, so he showed me his phone screen – I couldn’t believe it either.”
The happy winner said surprise and confusion were common reactions throughout the group.
“We went around to everyone else in the group and showed them the screen,” said Javier. “One of the members looked at the screen and thought we won $300. He looked completely stunned when we told him it was actually over $300,000.”
“Everyone was so excited!”
The group members said they all have a few ideas for their $36,782.59 shares of the win, including paying bills, taking family vacations, and investing.
Javier purchased the group’s winning ticket at Park Street Husky Market, located at 1601 Park Street in Regina. The group won their prize by matching six of the seven main numbers – 8, 21, 28, 29, 30 and 39 – plus the bonus number, 23.
