SASKATOON COUPLE WINS $1 MILLION ON LOTTO 6/49!
A Saskatoon couple is $1 million richer today, thanks to their ticket for the Saturday, October 14 LOTTO 6/49 draw. Dennis and Marjorie Petryshyn said their lottery windfall gives them a new sense of financial security.
The couple bought their winning ticket from the Silverwood Convenience Store, located at 330 Silverwood Road in Saskatoon. That $4 ticket matched the guaranteed $1 million prize draw selection drawn on October 14 – 26425387-01.
Dennis discovered the windfall when he stopped in at the same store two days later. He checked the ticket in the self-service ticket checker.
“After I saw the prize amount on the screen, I took the ticket to the clerk. I asked, ‘Does this say a million, or am I missing a dot in there somewhere?’” he remembered. “She checked it, and – it was a million. I couldn’t believe it was happening.”
“When the reality hits you, do you stay calm and collected, or do you dance and do a jig?” Dennis went on. “It took a while, but I found my happy dance. In private,” he laughed.
The couple said they’re still making plans for their prize, but they have a clear purpose in mind.
“This win will help us make a more comfortable life for us and for our kids,” Marjorie said.
“I can finally give you all the things I wanted to give you, but never could,” Dennis said to Marjorie. “That changes my life big-time.”
