Esterhazy winner brings home $100,000 windfall
Kim Schaeffer decided to grab a few ZING tickets on a break from work in late October. Little did she know that one of the four tickets she grabbed – a $5 INSTANT LOTTO MAX ZING ticket – was about to make her $100,000 richer.
“I was in shock – I still am,” laughed Schaeffer while claiming her prize earlier this month.
She picked up her winning ticket at Tri-Star Foods at 1201 East Dr. in Esterhazy, where she validated her win at the same time by using a ticket checker.
“I started shaking,” recalled Schaeffer. “I called my son and he didn’t believe me, so he had to come down to the store and see it for himself,” she laughed.
Schaeffer says she hasn’t got any specific plans for the money yet, other than some travel in the future.
“Once things settle down I might take my kids on a trip to Hawaii,” she said.
