Wynyard couples wins $100,000 on POKER LOTTO
Orest Shular was convinced his eyes were deceiving him when he scanned his POKER LOTTO ticket from the Feb. 19 draw. The screen was telling him he was $100,000 richer – but he just wasn’t convinced.
“I scanned this ticket and thought the machine screen was fooling me,” Orest said. “Afterward, I went to another store to double-check my ticket – I just couldn’t believe it!”
The Wynyard resident’s win confirmed, he was excited to tell his wife Helen, who he shares the prize with. The new winners said they haven’t made any firm plans for their winnings yet, but they have started thinking about all of the possibilities.
“We haven’t thought about it too much,” said Orest. “We would like to travel when it’s safe to do so – there are a lot of places across Canada that we’ve never seen.”
“We’d like to see some places in Saskatchewan, and Nova Scotia has always seemed interesting.”
The Shulars purchased their winning POKER LOTTO ticket from the Giant Tiger located at 30-146 Broadway St. E in Yorkton. They won their prize by matching five out of five cards on the game’s nightly draw.
