$250,000 EXTRA win in Warman!
Robert Ingvardsen had to check and recheck his DAILY GRAND ticket before he could believe he won $250,000 on the January 14 EXTRA draw.
The Warman winner purchased his ticket at the Co-op Food Store located at 1-810 Centennial Boulevard. He returned to the store just over a week later and checked his ticket.
“I was going to the grocery store and decided to check some of my tickets,” he said. “When I saw a bunch of numbers come up on the screen I thought, ‘That can’t be right. The machine must not be working.’”
“I walked away and picked up a few more groceries,” he continued. “On the way out I checked my ticket a couple more times. I tried to stay calm so I didn’t draw a crowd.”
Ingvardsen said he went home after scanning the ticket and told his wife about the win.
“I walked in and said, ‘Honey, I think I won a bag of money!’” he said. “I think I was still a bit stunned at that point.”
The new winner said he’s not rushing to make any decisions for his winnings, but he does have a couple ideas to get him started.
“I know I’m going to invest most of it,” he said. “But I think there will definitely be some travelling in there too.”
Ingvardsen bought his winning ticket as part of a $20 Triple Pack. Triple Packs include two DAILY GRAND tickets, two LOTTO 6/49 ticket and one LOTTO MAX tickets all with EXTRA draws.
He won the top prize by correctly matching all seven EXTRA digits—3819940. He won an additional $4 in subsidiary prizes on the same ticket.
