Regina resident gifted million-dollar-winning LOTTO MAX ticket!
This year, Ethel Clarkson got a birthday present unlike any other! The Regina resident was gifted a LOTTO MAX ticket and won $1,000,000 on one of the 53 MAXMILLIONS draws on October 19.
“My grand-daughter asked me what I wanted for my birthday,” said Clarkson. “I didn’t want to ask for anything, so I suggested ‘maybe a lottery ticket.’”
“I certainly wasn’t expecting this!”
After checking her numbers online, Clarkson said she had a hard time believing she had actually won a million dollars.
“It’s so surreal,” she said. “I jumped up and down, started screaming and crying as I was so excited – but I didn’t think it actually could be real.”
“I showed the ticket to my son and asked him to check it for me,” she continued. “He scanned it on the WCLC mobile app, and sure enough it was a million-dollar prize!”
Now that she knows her win is real, Clarkson has started thinking about what she will do with her windfall.
“It’s a dream to be debt free and to be able to help my family,” she said.
The happy winner said she also plans to buy herself a new car.
Clarkson’s $6 winning ticket was purchased at Sherwood Co-op Grassland, located at 4705 Gordon Road. Her winning selection was 4, 7, 13, 19, 42, 45 and 46.
