Arthur Kachuik didn’t just double-check the winning numbers on his POKER LOTTO ticket. The Regina resident had to triple-check it before he truly believed he’d won. Kachuik won $100,000 on the July 21 nightly draw.

“I scanned my ticket on the WCLC mobile app first,” he remembered. “Then, I checked the ticket on the website. And after that, I called the lottery and asked them to confirm it.”

“I couldn’t believe it!”

The happy winner said he already had a couple of ideas for his winnings.

“I’m going to shop around for a new vehicle,” he said. “And I’m going to look for a place to retire. This will speed up my retirement plans.”

Kachuik bought his winning POKER LOTTO ticket at Shoppers Drug Mart, located at 4130 Albert Street in Regina. His ticket matched all five winning cards drawn on July 21. The winning cards were: Jack of spades, King of diamonds, 5 of hearts, Ace of clubs and Jack of diamonds.

POKER LOTTO launched in the Prairies and the North in March 2017. The “Watch & Win” game gives players two chances to win: a chance at up to $10,000 instantly, and a second chance to win up to $100,000 on the game’s nightly draw. Kachuik is the first Saskatchewan resident to take home the $100,000 nightly draw top prize.
