SASKATOON COUPLE CLAIM $1 MILLION LOTTO 6/49 PRIZE!
Saskatchewan’s first million-dollar lottery win of 2018
Janet Sinclair and David Herbers just won a million dollars, and they can’t believe their good luck! The Saskatoon couple won the $1 million guaranteed prize on the February 10 LOTTO 6/49 draw.
The couple bought their winning ticket in the evening on Friday, February 9. They bought it from the 7-Eleven Food Store located at 101-3377 8th Street in Saskatoon.
The $7 LOTTO 6/49 quick pick ticket was part of a $24 Super Pack. The Super Pack gives players tickets for the upcoming LOTTO 6/49, LOTTO MAX, DAILY GRAND, WESTERN 649 and WESTERN MAX draws.
The couple’s LOTTO 6/49 ticket exactly matched the winning guaranteed prize selection drawn on the Saturday, February 10 draw. The winning selection was 32295238-01.
Sinclair discovered the win over coffee on Sunday morning, while she and Herbers watched television. She scanned the tickets using the WCLC Lottery Manager app on her phone.
“I said, ‘Dave, look at this,’” she remembered. “‘Is this right? Look at all the zeroes!’”
The couple said they plan to share some of their windfall with their family and finish some home renovations. Most of all, they’re looking forward to the sense of security their win will help give them.
“It’ll help when it’s time to retire,” Sinclair said. “We don’t have to worry about the future so much.”
“It’s a little weight lifted off our shoulders,” Herbers added.
